Are your fee earners and support staff spending too much time looking for documents and email?
How much time is being lost “reinventing documents”?

Key Features of Prescient+ Document Management
- Document and email version control
- Check-in check-out document locking
- Document comparison (using MSWord or Workshare DeltaView)
- Index based free text searching
- Document pre-viewer supporting all leading document formats
- Free text notes
- Document-type icons for visual reference
- On screen sorting by drag-and-drop of headers and advanced search
- Sort and filter of documents
- Norwel Document Management tool offers you the ability to create and manage documents quickly and efficiently.
Norwel’s Document Management tool works together with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook/GroupWise and Word in order to enhance functionality for your organisation.
In addition to email drag and drop filing control tools allow practices to monitor and control email. The system can provide tools which require fee earners to submit emails etc to supervisory staff before dispatch, with audit trails of approval being provided.
Using Prescient+ you can maintain more than one version of a document on a matter. A history of different versions is built up, with the last document defaulting to the ‘active’ document.Multiple versions of a document are denoted by the Microsoft Word icon in the Document Register.
In addition to the versioning feature, is the facility to check out a document. This can be done to prevent any further changes, and makes the document read-only. Only the person who has checked out the document or has sufficient admin rights can check the document back in.
Compare Documents Feature
You can compare documents on the same matter, or different matters. Whenever a comparison is made, you can view and/or save the resulting document created, using either Word or third party comparison tools such as Workshare Deltaview.
Free text searching
Free text searching is available via the Norwel Document Search module. All documents stored against matters in the Norwel database can be searched.
The module searches e-mails, web documents, spreadsheets, Word documents and PDFs. It also searches in other key areas such as the document properties, and key database fields (such as Matter Description or Client Name).
This facility is particularly useful when addressing the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI).
Here is an example screenshot based on a search for the word “council”.

Each retrieved document is listed in the grid. The search results can be filtered further by selecting or de-selecting entries from the tree view on the left, or searching on the selected list for additional words/phrases.
