Bournemouth Borough Council joins the growing Norwel LA client base
Bournemouth Borough Council are the latest addition to Norwel’s growing local authority client list having chosen to invest in the Norwel Prescient system.
Prescient incorporates:
-
Time Recording
-
Document and Email Management
-
CaseManagement (Workflow)
-
Reporting
-
Court Bundling
Prescient was launched in 2007 and provides the solicitor with a complete electronic case file accessed from a single screen. Prescient was chosen as the best available software on the market to meet Bournemouth’s legal department’s needs. It allows the user to manage their files the way they wish without being constrained by pre-determined workflows. With full Outlook integration and Document search, Prescient is easy to use automatically filing all correspondence against matters, and providing multiple time recording methods to suit the user.
Key members of the Bournemouth Legal Services Team visited the Borough of Poole to see Norwel’s system in use. Bournemouth Borough Council was confident that Norwel and Prescient would meet its requirements. It procured the system with little delay and implementation is now underway.
“Our initial aim is to implement time recording. Norwel/Prescient meets our specifications to provide a user-friendly system to accurately capture and report time and disbursements spent on matters. We are keen to streamline our business processes, deliver efficiencies and provide better information for our clients. We believe that Norwel/Prescient can deliver. Our fee earners are responding very positively to the time recording element of the system. We are looking forward to implementing electronic case management as the second phase of the project.” said Viv Bateman of BBC.
Bournemouth Borough Council’s Legal Services Team needed a system that supports the business development processes of its legal department including recording time, electronic case working and facilitating case management through the use of an electronic workflow system. The department also needed a system that has the flexibility to report on the work undertaken and analyse this in a series of predefined ways.
The system will support users in areas of document management and storage of case documentation as well as providing additional tools to help administrative duties become easier such as Norwel’s integrated Court Bundling module. In addition to this, the system needs to be user friendly and to provide additional support. Norwel does this by making things easier for solicitors by integrating Microsoft Outlook.
