From offices at Northampton, Kettering, Corby and Milton Keynes and a support resource centre within Northampton, regional law firm Tollers Solicitors provides a full range of legal services.
Tollers were founded in 1877 and today have 21 partners and staff of 230, this means they are well equipped to offer a broad range of Business Legal Services including Employment Law, Business Recovery, Dispute Resolution, Business Property and Corporate Law, as well as Private Client Services in Conveyancing, Wills and Tax and Estate Planning, Family Law and Injury Claims.
The firm’s philosophy centres on understanding clients’ needs and developing practical, high quality solutions that meet their requirements at a competitive price.
From its inception, the firm has understood the tremendous benefits to be gained by using the latest technology throughout the business.
The firm’s most recent investment, following a thorough examination of the legal software marketplace, is in Norwel’s new Prescient software.
Prescient was launched in 2007 and provides the fee earner with a complete electronic file accessed from a single screen. Prescient was chosen as the best available software on the market to meet the firm’s needs.
It includes:
Matter Management, Case Workflow, Document Production and Management, Outlook integration with email supervision, multiple time recording methods and full search facilities including contacts, matters and financials.
Tollers had, for a number of years, used the Norwel Case Management system for the Conveyancing team and designed new sale and purchase flow files which were initially rolled out with Prescient to 43 users. For this project Norwel provided development and project management resources to develop the flows to Tollers own specification.
The next stage was to determine a suitable system for the Personal Injury Team. The PI team needed a solution which was capable of not only driving workflowed cases but also of providing a supportive platform for high value complex cases.
Once again, Tollers evaluated the Legal Software market and researched software from the “market leaders” including Visual Files, MetaStorm, Eclipse and Videss David Baskerville, Tollers Head of IT, said that “The Norwel software easily stood shoulder to shoulder with them”. The fully integrated Accounts, Matter and Client database has huge benefits without the cost of integrating many “best of breed” applications.
The PI decision dovetailed with the launch of the firm’s new Personal Injury website www.yourinjurymatters.co.uk PI Partner & Team Leader Ingemar Hunnings said ”The system offers us the ability to further improve service standards to our clients whilst increasing the size and quality of our operation”
David Baskerville added “Our next IT project is to replace our in-house DotLegal system (currently used by all other fee earners throughout the firm), with Norwel’s Document Management module. Following that, we will implement the Contact Management (CRM) software and Desktop Online software to complete our overall strategic technology plan.
It will allow us to provide a better service to our clients and in turn they will benefit from improved performance. Enhanced online services will enable clients to monitor cases remotely, saving fee earner time, and increasing overall efficiency, leading to greater profitability.
We are confident that we will gain a number of significant and tangible benefits from implementing Norwel’s Prescient software. Norwel’s commitment to continued product development and the flexibility they offer provides us with benefits that are simply not achievable when using products and services from large international suppliers.
During the development phase of the PI project we have already experienced the benefits of Prescient and the close working relationship with Norwel.”
